A Review - The Jefferson County Workforce Center - A Great Place to Start Your Job Search!

We last visited the Jefferson County Workforce Center back in the days when they were still located on Simms Street in Lakewood.  The new center resides among the administration and county buildings on a hilltop close to the foothills overlooking Denver and Golden, Colorado.

The new Workforce Center resides at 3500 Illinois Street inside the Jefferson County Human Resources Administration Building.  The sign out on Illinois Street reads "Human Resources Administration" so you won't see an actual "Workforce Center" sign.  But just park in the lot and enter the building (it is the last structure on Illinois Street on the left hand side as you are traveling north.  If you enter into the golf course parking lot - you have gone a bit too far.)

Here is the Google Map for the Workforce Center.

Once inside, you as either a job seeker or an employer, you will be pleasantly surprised if you haven't visited previously.  You will be greeted by a well staffed reception desk where the personnel will quickly assist you in registering for services or answer your initial questions. Keep in mind that this center is only one of many throughout Colorado, but the focus of our review since we are a service primarily assisting the western suburbs of the Denver Metro Area.  Should you reside outside of Jefferson County, please visit our Workforce Center listing page for additional locations throughout Colorado.

The Workforce Centers throughout Colorado share a similar operational philosophy.  Centers vary in size and somewhat in scope of services provided - but you will find the same approach - free, assisted employment resources to best assist you in a first job search, a new job search, a change in careers, and much more.  We could write paragraph after paragraph about the Jefferson County Workforce Center, but instead, following is a listing highlighting some of their key services - again - free to all.

Three locations to serve you in Jeffco: Golden/Idaho Springs/Blackhawk

And don't stop here, take the time to visit the center, meet their staff, get oriented with the resources.  Then take advantage of tons of programs, as diverse as receiving information on unemployment assistance, obtaining a GED, or receiving personal counseling if experiencing a mental crisis.  For youth, there is a special youth employment assistance sub resource area - called "Jeffco Youth Works" for those under 21 - whether it be for summer employment or year round part time work.  You can even learn about obtaining financial aid for your education.

You owe it to yourself to visit this valuable resource.  It is our highest rated and recommended service to get you well on your way to productive employment in Colorado.  Get started with a cyber visit to the Jefferson County Workforce Center home page, then make a trip to 3500 Illinois St. in Golden, Colorado.  You won't regret it!
