About the Shrine of St. Anne
In 2005, Parish Pastor, Father David
Croak the St. Anne Social Ministry group and requested that a job board
be established for those in the parish seeking employment. We began with
a small cork board posting local announcements with push pins and 3 x 5
cards. Then we decided to try our hand at an "employment web site". We
were very please to receive about 30 visitors to our site each month.
Then our visitation began to increase.
By the end of our first year on the internet we were attracting about
200 a month from the Denver metro area. Next we decided, with a slumping
economy, that we should attempt to assist with information beyond
employment, including family assistance, emergency resources, and food
banks. Soon our web site was attracting about 500 visitors a month -
many utilizing our Food Bank resources and references.
And now, after five years, our site attracts nearly 1,500 visitors
monthly from the Denver and sometimes beyond area, using our
Denver Food Bank resource, our
Denver Assistance resources and viewing
our Denver Job News page, which is
updated weekly. Our Social Ministry group is involved in the activities
illustrated here as well as many spontaneous programs. We work closely
with the
Arvada
Community Food Bank, and many of our members are involved with the
Arvada Resource Ministry Service (ARMS) providing services to families
in distress.
We welcome your comments and suggestions anytime, and if you happen to
move into our neighborhood in Olde Town Arvada, we welcome you to the
Shrine of St.
Anne, and would love to have you join us in the Social Ministry
group. St. Anne also supports the
Shrine of St. Anne School
K through 8. Contact us any time at
